Behaviors my parents taught me

In my childhood, my parents taught me many things such as respecting elders, honoring my word, to fulfill my commitments and schedules, to honor my ancestors and the Japanese culture, among others.

I remember that when older people arrived in our home, we must listen their words, opinions, and advice, always respect and attention or we would be punished with harsh words for weeks, that was not a smart thing to do.

About being on time, so I can remember clearly there were many punishments. Often in the morning, I was always lazy to wake up, my parents saying and arguing with me, you want to sleep late, but must take responsibility for reaching agreement on time, if you want to sleep more, go to bed early. And about schedules or appointments we had to be in the place at least 10 minutes before
the scheduled time, it was difficult to learn, many reprimands were heard.

My parents rewarded me with praise and showing us how much they were proud of me, that was enough for me, i loved to see in their eyes the pride they felt to me.

  1. I think that your parents were having a good way to teach you how to behave your self and how to show your good manners .
