Interviewing Marco
On February 22, 2011, I interviewed Marco, my classmate, he answered five questions. All of the five questions involved sharing of music and software on line. His responses were that while he does not think it should be a crime (only his singing should be a crime) he feels that the punishment should be a warning on the first time and on the next time to have the laptop taken away. When asked about purchasing fake CDs that are being sold for a lower price Marco stated that he felt that the original CDs are too expensive and that buying counterfeit copies are justified by the price. On the subject of software piracy Marco stated that it is a crime to copy software and sell stating that the programmer put time and effort into the creation of the program and he should be paid. Even though Marco feels that lending out software CDs to his friends is wrong he values their friendship enough where he will lend out the CDs even though he does feel it is wrong.
